Ravi (Jeetendra) marries Sarita (Rekha). Sarita plays the role of an uneducated ill-mannered village girl named Bijli. Bijli asks Naniji to wash her plate. Bijli aks for the house keys but Lata ( Bindu) refuses to give her the keys. On this, Bijli says that she will leave this house and go to stay with her father. Ravi asks Lata to give her the keys. Suntan is story of immense paternal love. The movie starts with the story of Ashok Kumar and Nirupa Roy- old parents of Kishore (Satyendra Kapoor), who did everything in their limit and educate their son Kishore so that he becomes a doctor. They work very hard to arrange money for his education. But he, instead of thanking for his parent's efforts, abandons them and moves out to make quick money. He marries a very rich girl and leads a lavish life with her. Then, they have a son and name him Ravi. Ravi is completely opposite of his father. Eventually, he comes to know about his father's deeds and decides to teach his parents, a lesson for misbehaving with his grandparents. Watch how he'll teach them a lesson with the help of Rekha.
