This time around, the awareness-raising trek the teen took with his 8-year-old sibling stretched 57 miles.
When Gandee was close to his final destination, he felt tired but told the Associated Press that he "got a burst of energy at the end."
It allowed him to overcome the soreness he was feeling and forge ahead.
