Zarlor Mercenary review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Zarlor Mercenary for the Atari Lynx developed and published by Epyx.

The Zarlor are in huge trouble, and since no one seems to be volunteering, they hire a mercenary to save their race. That’s you. Zarlor Mercenary is a vertical shoot ‘em up from Epyx, the same team that designed the Atari Lynx itself. Each playable character has a different ability—we recommend Brenda for her auto-fire and the sake of your thumbs. Between levels, however, you can purchase new weapons and power-ups to upgrade your ship and make things easier on you. Even if nothing is even remotely easy about Zarlor Mercenary. Its pace is somewhat slow and screen is busy, and its headaches are legendary. Zarlor Mercenary offers single-player and local multiplayer on the Lynx.
