Baby on the way! Cops hold speeding couple at gunpoint before realizing she was in labor

Pregnant women in labor are not fond of delays. That’s the lesson some Iowa cops learned after they tried to pull over a speeding vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday.
Three-time mom Rachel Kohnen had woken up in the early hours of Tuesday to find her latest baby had picked that day for its birthday.
The couple lives in a somewhat rural part of Iowa, and they needed to get to the hospital – fast!
Rachel was so far into labor, in fact, she thought she might give birth in the car.
After a police cruiser flipped on its lights and sirens, the pair knew they should stop…but in the throes of labor, Rachel had no patience for legalities and told her husband Ben to step on it.
The couple called 911 from their car to try and explain their predicament, but it was too late.
Backup was called in and tire spikes were laid down.
After coming to an enforced stop, the couple was forced to the ground at gunpoint--although it soon became pretty obvious that Rachel really couldn’t “lie down on the ground with her hands behind your head” very effectively.
Rachel was taken to hospital in a squad car and gave birth to their fourth kid, a healthy baby girl they named Hazel.
The local police chief says there’s still a chance the couple could face charges for not stopping, but many are hoping they cut the Kohnen’s some slack.
