Texas police recently released dashcam footage of several police vehicles involved in an August 9 incident in which a woman was pulled over by officers who mistook her car for a suspect’s, and held at gunpoint in front of her children.
According to various reports, Forney police received 911 call about a driver waving a gun out his window. The complaint stated that the car was a beige or tan Toyota, and was carrying four African American males.
Moments later, police pulled over Kametra Barbour in a red Nissan Maxima. Barbour was then held at gunpoint as she was ordered out of the car, and handcuffed in front of four young children — two of her own and two godchildren. In the footage, the children told the officers that they “never had a gun” and that they had “just returned from Walmart.”
Barbour was uncuffed and released soon after the officers realized they pulled over the wrong car.
