When we last told you about Tyler Kost, he was being arraigned for the alleged molestation and rape of 13 girls at his high school. Now that his case has gone to trial, his legal team is mounting a defense inspired by a popular teen movie from 8 years ago.
In the film "John Tucker Must Die," the main character was a very popular young man with all his schoolmates, especially the girls. When they find out he's dating three girls at once, they conspire to teach him a lesson. Kost's attorneys say that three girls conspired in the same manner using social media to frame their client on rape charges. They have 98,000 pages of transcripts to prove it, but need access to a few more witnesses Facebook accounts to make it airtight, they say.
It may be an uphill battle to get that access since the state of Arizona thinks the need for the records isn't substantial. However it plays out, we'll continue to monitor the drama.
The next hearing in the case set for May 4th.
