After closing the Rafah border crossing with Gaza for nearly 50 days, Egyptian authorities temporarily opened it on Monday morning. Some Palestinians will be able to travel in and out of the region for two days. Top priority will be given to those who have already registered to use the crossing, mainly patients and students. Palestinian leaders have asked for an extension of the two-day period.
