Mexico reports thousands of forced disappearances in recent years

The forced disappearance of people is a crime against humanity and therefore there is no statute of limitations on prosecuting such offenses. In Mexico, the massacres and forced disappearance of people have exposed the complicity among the government, the system of justice and its institutions, the security forces and criminal cartels. During Felipe Calderon's administration from 2006 to 2012, the National Human Rights Commission reported that the number of disappeared reached 30,000, while data from human rights organizations triple these numbers. teleSUR
