To be honest, I do not know much about the pope, but the good thing is Gary Wilson kind of enlightened me in his pope joke. He gives little visual clues in his pope joke to understand a little bit about the pope. To be honest though, I can't tell if it is just one pope joke, or if it is multiple pope jokes...to me it sounds like multiple pope jokes. I have been many things for Halloween over my years, but I have never been a joke pope. A joke pope is just a pope costume...it never occurred to me to dress up like a pope. I wonder if these would be jokes pope would laugh at, it would be difficult to know for sure which jokes pope would laugh at because I don't know what kind of sense of humor he has. What Gary did in this bit is something really cool, he was able to tell jokes about the pope...actually funny pope jokes at that, and have someone ignorant on the subject (me) laugh. I had no context about the jokes about the pope, yet I still got a good laugh in. I find that very unique, and a mark of a good comic.
