okoye charles - A Picture

The moon rises in a darkened scene
In circle of grey, in black and white
A melancholic skies, the eyes do capture
A haunted portrait hanging on the walls of the heart.

Imagine each star as a brilliant flash;
A flower dazzling the mind with its petals?
Imagine the planets posing with you;
A beautiful model, surrounded by hungry beggars?

Do you not wish for a horse;
A ride far away from these blind lenses,
From these dead clicks and hollow pictures;
To the light, to the friendly images of your senses?

Or Do you stand and pose, smiling
At the camera, at the dying world
And capture the fleeting moment, hoping
That a picture will not tell a thousand words?
