R writes:

The morning sun arises
bringing light into my soul
chasing shadows from the room
where my thighs are clasped around you
as the vine will clasp the branch,
for strength, and for the climbing,
the striving and the reaching
for that final burst of light.

M answers:

I am quite still just for a brief,
delicious moment. Like a thief
I borrow time as to prolong
the promise of a play,
a sonnet from Shakespearean days,
where words can climb
only to tumble from the mount,
and catch a limb to break the fall
and wait for soft, chantilly hands
to bathe them in the nectar's creek
where syllables are sent to sing
and punctuation must be wrong.
A golden ray reflects the love
and like a phoenix rises high
until it reaches us to bring
that final burst, a world of light
a million glow worms have arrived
amphibious stars that ride the crest
as hands are clasped and limbs hold tight.
One finds strong vines where sunrays surge
and kindred rivers flow to merge.
