With at least seven hundred and fifty six lifetime trips
Around the baseball diamond....
I remember Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris
One a drunken gambler and the other a neurotic mess
Pulled his hair out by the handful
All because he couldn't get that sixtieth over the outfield fence
Yeah I'm too young to have seen 'The Babe' play
From what I'm told it was a sight
Heard he was a drunken bad ass
Who didn't gave a crap about what anyone would say
Then there was the Negro League
A bunch of supermen in baseball uniforms
Legend has it some of them pitched perfect games
And many others hammered a hundred home runs a season
Now that's a rap!
Not like now and the rap they put on poor Barry
They claim he juiced his way to the top
Took those growth hormones to shrink his balls
So that he could quickly release his more powerful swing
Look at the size of his head they say it is evidence
Of his abusive nature towards the national press
To all this scandal mongering and to those who perpetrate
That when he breaks the record we must place an asterisk *
Next to his name
Barry...I'm pulling for you my man.....
Not only that but the way this thing works
Even though this write of mine sucks.....
In the end....it's all about the hits! ! ! ! ! ! !
