They came in the dead of the night,
Ravenous and hungry looking for food,
They tore at my flesh, bones and soul,
They seared my mind in the fired grill,
Their screams of victory so shrill,
As I heard their devilish laughter,
As they took their fill,
Of my innocence, faith, and security.
I am lonely and so afraid,
In my abandoned state,
That my fears last to this very day,
Unable to leave my mind in peace,
While they still laugh and enjoy their feast.
Oh why can't they leave me alone?
Why can't they let me go home,
And be at peace in my soul?
Why won't they let me be whole,
In my body and soul?
Why must they continue to devour,
This innocent little flower,
Who only wants to be complete and whole,
In her body and soul?
