'Have you ever thought,
How we teleport?
Just how does it work? '
Said Captain Kirk.
'No-one has been able to unravel,
This speedy way to travel.
Suppose when you arrive,
It's a new body that's alive.
What do you think Bones,
Are we all clones?
Perhaps we're not who we were,
And that light above is really a laser,
Able to make a detailed scan,
Of every atom and thought of a man.
However it may seem,
If we're not really in that beam,
This amazing machine,
Would be a bad dream,
That just makes a print in 3D,
Of you and me.
It is possible each time we vaporize,
No-one can hear our cries.
We'd stop seeing teleports as fun,
If we knew we were stepping into a sun.
Perhaps it doesn't really matter.
Or maybe I'm just mad as a hatter.
Oh, what the heck,
We'll just be brave, it's Star Trek! '
Bones said, beginning to frown,
'I need to lie down.
I wish you'd asked Spock,
You've given me quite a shock,
Now you've made me think,
I need a really powerful drink.'
