Cancer patient releases video explaining move to Oregon for assisted suicide

A terminal brain tumor has pushed one woman to take on her cancer - on her own terms.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) TERMINALLY ILL PATIENT BRITTANY MAYNARD SAYING:

"I can't even tell you the amount of relief it provides me to know that I don't have to die the way it's been described to me that my brain tumor would take me on its own."

Relief because Brittany Maynard will legally end her own life, with the help of a medical professional.

After being diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor, she moved to Oregon, where assisted suicide for terminally ill patients is legal.

She plans to take prescribed medication when the pain becomes unbearable.

It's a decision that she and her family detailed in a YouTube video this week.
