Liam Nazarek, 16, was barred by his coach from playing baseball because the coach believed he had a discipline problem.

Nazarek, who's from Pincher Creek in southern Alberta, Canada, refused to cut his hair that he had been growing out for a year because he was planning to donate the locks to make wigs for children with cancer.

Even though coach Bryan MacKenzie admitted it was an "admirable cause," he refused to back down because he wasn't going to give anyone special treatment.

Liam's mother Kimberley Jorgenson argued that skills and respect for rules of the game matter much more than looks when it comes to playing baseball. Unfortunately, MacKenzie disagreed. The rules are the rules, you know.

Jorgenson shot a video of her trying to reason with coach, which went viral after being uploaded to Facebook.
