Tear gas and water cannon are fired into crowds of Indonesian protesters.

Police in Jakarta were trying to disperse thousands of supporters of the losing presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.

It's a last ditch attempt to overturn the presidential election result, which Prabowo says was tainted by widespread cheating.

These protesters rammed their trucks into the barriers trying to break into the constitutional court's headquarters.

As expected they unanimously upheld the result of last month's presidential election, dismissing Prabowo's claims of massive fraud.

Probowo supporters aren't happy with the result but they say they'll respect the court's decision.

The ruling paves the way for Joko Widodo to take over as Indonesia's new president.
