As you grow and wonder why it all seems
That the way ahead is the way of your dreams.
To make this happen and your wishes come true
There’s only one person and that person is you.
Until the day your lover you meet
Who promises the world to lay down at your feet.
They promise security car kids and home
And with them by your side you'll not be alone.
Then one day the rot it will start
With a nagging pain in the pit of your heart.
You know what I mean by the things they have missed
To you special things to them just a list.
These broken promises get bigger each time
And by way of apology they feed you a line.
It means nothing to them promises un-kept
But for you your dreams away they have swept.
To recover from this sometimes takes years
But you without them dreams won’t end in tears.
