I wish that I had the money,
SO, let's pretend I do - - -
I would go back to a place,
in a little city south of Scranton,
there is a bar down there,
kind of tucked into a corner,
... I sort of found a home there!
Every other song was a little ditty,
- 'bout Jack and Diane,
There were some big ole' burly guys,
playin' pool on the strangest table,
that I have ever seen!
Every one I've ever known,
was twice as long as it was wide,
... but, not that one!
maybe, two - point - two - five - long ?
... and custom made by a craftsman,
way back when, that didn't know,
or maybe didn't care!
I did not realize at first,
so, I put my quarters up,
they tried to stare me down,
it did not work! ...
well, my turn came and
I lost with dignity,
and I also made some friends!
The other tune that wasn't,
about Jack and Diane,
was about a Fine, Fine day! ,
and then I put another set of quarters up!
I moseyed to the bar and got a beer,
I ordered up a burger from the beauty,
and started talking to a local guy named Ethan,
... who was soon to be my partner,
and ate one of the best burgers,
that I have ever known!
Ethan and I played again,
and held the table 'till a half an hour past closing,
I felt like hell the next day,
I guess that we drank too much for free!
