Climbing a palm tree
with a coconut braid
hanging your life on the line
climbing the ladder of a moving train
watching your dreams pass by
hanging your life out in the rain
hoping your troubles will dry
holding your wife through a tidal wave
hearing your neighbors die
out of the rubble, out of the pain
you’ve got to keep trying.

Dropping the keys down a garbage disposal
having to climb inside
running from a tornado
hearing your babies cry
not knowing what the future holds
when all your hopes are tried
and everything that you’ve been told
is a goblet full of lies.
Oh, you have to learn to let it go,
let the wild turkeys fly
and in your soul you will know
it’s gonna be alright.

When it feels like you can’t trust,
like you’re being played
when the worlds at its worst
the dragon can’t be tamed
you can’t go on, but you must
your whole life’s at stake
when you’ve just had enough
of this horrid place
you’ve got to be tough
the seasons will change
the road might be rough,
but it’s gonna be okay.
