Wildlife camera catches flying thief: A mischievous juvenile sea eagle is responsible for swiping a wildlife camera in Western Australia's remote Kimberley region and taking it on an epic journey.

Aboriginal rangers set up the motion-capture camera May along the bank of the Murray River in the country's northwest, placing it near a meat trap to capture video of freshwater crocodiles.

But it disappeared, Rangers believing it had fallen into the water until they they received a call from another ranger 110 km away who found the camera intact.

Rangers were able to extract three 30 seconds second clips which reveal the young eagle as the thief. They say they are confident the bird is a juvenile as mature eagles prefer to drop their prey onto rocks from a height, and this would have smashed the camera.
