Stephen Amaral allegedly fell victim to a skinny dipping scam when his neighbors asked to swim in his pool. The Tennessee resident said a couple paid him a visit on a hot day when the woman asked if she could go for a dip. He invited her in, then she asked her husband to get her cigarettes. While he was away, she asked Amaral if she could swim in the buff. He said he didn't mind, then sat and watched her for 20 minutes. While she swam, Amaral believes the husband went into his home and stole more than $1,000 worth of jewelry, medicine and a treasured handgun from his time as a Mississippi deputy. Amaral said before escorting the woman out, he invited her to attend church with him. Not surprisingly, she said she didn't have time for it.
The couple have been identified, but not yet found. Amaral is asking that they return his items and he had hoped to pass some of them on to his grandchildren.
