LEGO The Hobbit review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of LEGO The Hobbit for the Xbox 360 developed by Traveller’s Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive.
Let’s be honest—there are probably some serious LEGO kits in The Shire. If there’s one thing that’s implied from Tolkien’s work, it’s that hobbits love to play with LEGO. That’s why this game makes so much sense! LEGO The Hobbit is the latest game in that long line of “LEGO games based on something.” In this case, it’s the first two Hobbit films, An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation Of Smaug. The gameplay is very similar to the many prior licensed LEGO games, but there are a few new touches taken from The LEGO Movie Video Game, as well. Players control a fellowship—see what we did there?—of hobbits and dwarves as they play through the major events of the first two films. LEGO The Hobbit is one of the prettiest LEGO games to date, offering spectacular locations and set pieces made all the more beautiful by great lighting effects. LEGO The Hobbit offers single-player and local cooperative multiplayer play.
