Athens, Greece, February 27, 2014. On Thursday evening members of collectives and rights groups march outside Korydallos prison hospital protesting inhuman hospital conditions in solidarity with prison hospital inmates. They shout slogans against the prison system while holding a banner that reads: "We Want a Hospital not a "Hell Place".
Two of the members of the rights groups were detained to Korydallos Police Station while attending to the protest. They walked free later, when a group of protesters marched to the Police Station at the end of the demonstration.

Inmates held in prison hospital are refusing food and medication as part of a protest campaign against their severely overcrowded living conditions.
Last week protesters posted statements on social media saying at least 178 of the inmates have been refusing prison food and medical care for the past week. They have also posted photos on social media depicting appalling detention conditions: showing inmates sleeping on double bunks packed tightly together and on mattresses on the floor. One ailing man lies on a bunk, a drip in his arm fixed to a mop handle due to lack of equipment.
