Seabrook, NH, cops placed on leave after brutal video surfaces

Three New Hampshire cops have been placed on administrative paid leave after a video clip emerged on YouTube showing them assaulting a teenager who had been taken into custody.

The video shows a Seabrook police officer throwing the teenager against a wall at the Seabrook Police Department following his arrest, before another officer appears to pepper spray the helpless teen as he lies on the ground.

The incident occurred in 2009, but the video was only posted online a couple of days ago by the victim Michael Bergeron, Jr., because his lawyer 'disappeared with the tape for two years."

In their defense, police told the media that at the time Bergeron was arrested for drunk driving and possession of drugs.

The arresting officers said that, "he was on something," and they had trouble with him from the start.

They added that he was aggressive, yelling and swearing and even kicked the police cruiser, before stuffing his shirt down the toilet.

But, "that doesn't excuse any improper behavior on the part of the officers," Seabrook Deputy Police Chief Michael Gallagher told local media.

The officers were placed on leave as part of an investigation by the Seabrook police chief.

A man who answered the door at at Bergeron's home yesterday, said Bergeron was not interested in talking to the media yet.
