A bomb attack wounded two volunteer military rangers on patrol in Narathiwat's Cho Ai Rong district in southern Thailand on Thursday (February 20).

According to the Bangkok Post, the attack occurred at about 8:30am at a bridge near Ban Pare Rubo in Tambon Marubo. Six men from the 48th Ranger Regiment were patrolling on three motorcycles along a road.

Two rangers, named Boonpen Liga and Charoonsak Pitakkij got off their motorcycle to examine one end of the bridge when an assailant remotely detonated a bomb planted at the location, Bangkok Post reported.

The two were wounded by the blast, but not seriously injured. They were admitted to Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Hospital.
