Happy New Year, everypony! Here's the secret reason I asked you all what my weakest casting choices were; over the next couple of months I'm going to be peppering my videos with Specials showing off what could have been. While I do not regret a single choice I've made in the past (blatantly lying), I nevertheless want to show that I can make just about anypony work for just about any role if I had half a mind to.
So the role that the most people seemed to have a problem with was Twilight as Rapunzel. Pinkie just barely edged out Fluttershy for the most expected choice and I'd be lying if I didn't say I see where they're coming from. But the thing is, I never saw Rapunzel as being very random. Energetic, sure, excitable, most definitely, hyper, I suppose. But I think that more came from her inexperience with dealing with people than from a facet of her own personality.
Rapunzel acts the way she does in the movie because she's nervous and doesn't know how to react to situations properly. She doesn't know when to stop and let someone else talk or how to read their social cues or anything like that, and that leads to nervous energy. And while Pinkie does behave like that on occasion, it's never because she doesn't know how to deal with others. I felt Twilight's initial confusion on how to make and keep friends that she had throughout most of seasons 1 and the beginning of 2 felt more natural to what Rapunzel was going through. It was a close call between these two, though. And in hindsight I'm VERY glad I didn't go with Pinkie for this, as that would be a little too close to something coming up...
I do not own My Little Pony or Disney, but I've just finished getting the latest 69 pokemon. Is that the last of it, Nintendo? Have I finally caught them all or... what do you mean, Mega evolutions? HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO CATCH THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU ARE SATISFIED?!?!?
