I have made consistent payments each month. Without ever missing or being behind on my payments since that time. I have since divorced and am no longer going to school. I am a one income household and have $12,000.00 in school loans that have went into collections because I cannot afford to pay them along with my chapter 13 payment. Does anyone have any advice on filing a discharge or where I could find the guidelines for Alabama. The lady in the lawyers office where I filed (not the lawyer) said that I could file for chapter 7 at a later date. Does anyone know if that is true? I cannot get anyone at the lawyers office to return my calls, and the woman that I worked with while filing no longer works there? Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated! -
