Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is to announce a series of long-awaited reform plans today in what's known as the "democratisation package".

One proposal affecting Turkey's Kurdish community will be the possible cancellation of the ban on political parties pursuing their activities in languages other than Turkish.
