STORY: Footage posted on YouTube on Monday and said to be filmed in Cairo earlier shows man on a rooftop wearing what appears to be a military helmet opening fire with a rifle five times, apparently in the direction of a crowd in the street below.
In the clip, which could not be independently verified, two bloodied men are shown carried away unconscious, as gunfire continues to ring in the background. It purports to show protesters milling on Monday at the Republican Guard building where supporters of ousted President Mohamed Mursi say he is being detained.
The military was not immediately available for comment on the images on Monday.
