Living in ridiculously tall residential towers can offer unbeatable views. But, there could also be disadvantages, especially when something goes wrong.

Take for example, the elevators. It’s pretty safe to say that the residents of the over 100-story high Princess Tower, weren’t too happy when the building’s elevators broke down. A fire safety drill caused water leakage which affected the operations of the lifts.

For those unfamiliar with the Princess Tower, it is located in the Marina district of Dubai and is classified as the world’s tallest residential building. Some of the elevators in the tower are still being repaired from the June 10th incident.

Those expecting new furniture will have to wait as deliveries are banned until the repair efforts are through. For the first few hours after the breakdown, residents were forced to make the journey to their homes and outside by way of stairs.

Thankfully two of the lifts, serving the first 50 floors were up and running two hours after the incident. Fast forward another 12 hours and one functional elevator could venture up to floor 97, but the lift had to be called in advance.
