Family Guy is a nonsensical animated sitcom centered on the Griffin family living in the fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island. It extensively employs flashbacks (interwoven with the main storyline through various camera angles). The series was canceled twice by Fox in 2000 and 2002, but considering its impressive DVD sales and high ratings during reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block, Fox decided to revive it in 2005. The Simpsons became the first animated series to be revived due to DVD sales performance. It also remains the only animated series to achieve a second revival for this reason
