Dying at Mass during the elevation of the Host, St. Paschal Baylon had an extraordinary love for the Most Blessed Sacrament, and is said to have opened his eyes during the elevation while lying dead at his own funeral Mass. Made the heavenly protector of all Eucharistic Congresses and Associations, the humble Franciscan mystic also had a great devotion to Our Blessed Mother.
