STORY: Dozens of protesters marched to the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara on Wednesday (May 15) to stage an anti-government protest, blaming the government for twin bomb attacks on the border town of Reyhanli that killed dozens of people last week.

Riot police detained protesters as another anti-government protest in the Turkish capital was staged at the Middle East Technical University where protesters also clashed with security forces. Riot police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd as protesters threw stones.

The Reyhanli bombings took place on Saturday (May 11) as prospects appeared to improve for diplomacy to try to end the war in Syria, after Moscow and Washington announced their joint effort to bring government and rebels to an international conference as soon as possible.
