Hub River Road (Phase 1) Inaugurated by Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan

Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan after inaugurating the Hub River Road, said that it was an important highway that connected Sindh and Balochistan and whose construction had been completed two months prior to the stipulated time. He was talking to media representatives on the opening ceremony of Phase-I of the road. Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed, Provincial Minister for Auqaf Abdul Haseeb Khan, MPA Muhammad Hanif Shaikh, Commissioner Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh, Director General Technical Services Altaf G Memon and Senior Director Health Services Dr Shoukat Zaman were also present on the occassion. The governor said that the second phase of the construction which included construction of a five to six kilometer long track would be completed in the next financial year. Distinct engineering and quality material was used in the track to accommodate heavy traffic including 28 wheelers, he said. The governor said that being a very important corridor, the track experienced lot of traffic accidents in the past. However, the rates have reduced considerably after the construction of this road. Replying to a question, he said that progresswas underway in talks among government allies regarding holding of local bodies' elections.
