Security around Pakistan is tight a day before the country's historic general elections.

In the weeks leading up to Saturday's vote, the Pakistani Taliban have killed more than 100 people in attacks targeting three major political parties.

The favorite to win is Nawaz Sharif, who's hoping for a third term in office.

The election marks the first time a civilian government has completed a five-year term without a military coup.

Whoever is elected, the military will still maintain decision-making authority on foreign policy and security, including the volatile ties with Washington.
