A woman is arrested for allegedly stealing a Bible.

A Georgia woman is now facing legal charges after she allegedly tried to steal a Bible. According to police, Ashley Fleming arrived at a local Barnes and Noble store in the early afternoon and left the shop without paying for a copy.

She was abruptly apprehended by cops and charged with theft by shoplifting. In light of the incident, it has been pointed out that many churches give out bibles free of charge on a regular basis.

A pastor of a local church stated, “We believe that God's word should be given freely, and so if someone comes in to our campus and they don't have God's word, then we are very happy to give them a copy.” Fleming has since been released from jail on bond.

Last year, a man in Kentucky reportedly stole a textbook, titled, 'Resolving Ethical Issues'. Terry Davis was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor crime; theft by unlawful taking.

25-year-old Davis stole the book from a Barnes and Noble college bookstore and later tried to sell the book to Gray's College reading shop.
