Check out the world's smallest flying robot.

Robots are making themselves useful in so many facets of our lives.

Harvard University scientists claim to have developed the world’s smallest flying robot.
The insect-like robot can fly and maneuver in the air with agility so fast that humans can’t hit it with their hand.

The robo-fly weighs only 80 milligrams and is built from carbon fiber.

The wings beat around 120 times per second, using an electric signal response mechanism.

The robo-fly is tethered to a power source as a battery small enough to carry and maintain its maneuvering abilities has not been invented yet.

One of the researchers from Harvard predicts that battery problem should be solved in 5 to 10 years.

The researchers think in the future that the robots could be used for search and rescue missions in difficult to reach places, or maybe as environmental monitoring devices that can sense chemicals.

The robots could even be useful for pollinating plants, like insects do in nature.

What do you think? How do you like the idea of small flying robots?
