China becomes the world's largest PC market.
China has surpassed the United States in personal computer sales, and the number of people using the internet.
In 2012, China ordered 69 million computers, making them the largest market for PCs.
The country also has the most people online with over 500 million people who use the internet.
In China, the number of desktop computers and laptops sales is divided evenly.
Peter Lin, senior analyst for computer platforms at the research company, IHS said: "The relatively large percentage of desktop PC shipments in China is due to huge demand in the country's rural areas, which account for a major segment of the country's 1.34 billion citizens. These consumers tend to prefer the desktop.”
Investments in computer infrastructure from China’s government are expected to reach over 6 trillion dollars during the next ten years.
Using the internet in China is different because the government has blocked and censored some of the most popular websites like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
Instead there are Chinese websites that mimic these services, like Baidu search engine, and Renren, a popular social networking website in China.
