An unpiloted Russian craft carrying cargo for the International Space Station launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 6:12 a.m. EDT (1012gmt) Wednesday (April 24) for a two-day trip to the orbital outpost.

The ISS Progress 51 cargo craft replaces the trash-filled Progress 49 which undocked from the station's Zvezda service module on April 15.

It is loaded with more than 3000 pounds (1361 kilos) of spare parts, experiment hardware and other supplies for the station crew.

The cargo craft is scheduled to dock with the station's Zvezda service module Friday (April 26) at 8:26 a.m.
