The moment of impact and confusion as runners tried to make sense of the burst of flames and smoke from an explosion right near the finish line of the Boston marathon.

Police say at least two people are dead and as many as 23 as two explosions rocked the area. The ensuing panic had many scrambling to find loves ones and one woman could be heard wailing I need to find my children.

Emergency workers ripped away fencing as others carried injured men and women from the scene.
