Snoop Lion joins a bracelet campaign to end gun violence.
Rapper Snoop Lion is partnering up with MTV to curb violence. On top of releasing his new single called “"No Guns Allowed”, he is also working to help remove illegal guns form the streets.
In collaboration with both MTV and Jewelry for a Cause, Snoop is involved with the release of a limited edition line of bracelets.
Made with steel from illegal guns recovered through New Jersey police buyback programs, the bracelets also feature firearm serial numbers. They are being sold for $40 each and the proceeds will go to Newark Police Department to fund additional gun buyback programs.
Snoop states “We've seen a lot of senseless acts of violence involving guns recently — too many have lost their lives, too many families have been destroyed. Like my friends at MTV, I want to be a part of the change that will help bring peace.”
Late last year, over 40 celebrities joined forces to appear in a video. The clip featured well known faces including Beyonce, Jamie Foxx and Jason Bateman calling out well known locations where gun violence has occurred over the years.
