Filmmaker Karan Johar is known for his larger than life films and lavish sets and yet, the Dharma dude had to rein in himself while making a film for Bombay Talkies, a collection of four short films made to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema.
Talking about working under the challenges of a limited budget, Karan quipped, “We have our own style of film making, but we didn't have much budget for Bombay Talkies. First of all, I have never made a film under budget...I am the biggest liability to Dharma Productions! This is for the first time that I have to work under a budget of Rs. 1.5 crores and it was a difficult process. We consciously made an effort to make it within the budget.”
