Another daily newspaper in Myanmar has received a license to go daily and will be published from the first week of April.

Golden Fresh Land, owned by publisher U Maung Maung Hla, will be sold for K155 a copy.

“The newspaper will include 10 colour pages out of the 20 pages we will publish daily, and we have space for extra pages if needed,” he said.

U Maung Maung Hla already owns eight journals. The paper will be printed in Yangon, and will have about 50 employees.

U Myint Kyaw, a journalist with the paper, said: “There will be some difficulties in distributing papers across the country, and not everyone will be able to buy a paper every day.”

The majority Union Solidarity and Development Party published a trial version of a daily newspaper, The Union (Pyidaungsu), and distributed it for free to the parliament in the capital Nay Pyi Taw on March 18.

The Ministry of Information had already given daily licenses to eight dailies in the first week of March, which will be allowed to begin publishing on April 1.
