Rebel fighters now control in Bangui and one of their first stops was the home of President Francois Bozize's son. Rebels as well as locals carrying furniture and other looted goods, streamed out of the house throughout the day.

The president's whereabouts are unclear although one of his advisors says he fled to Congo with his entire family.

Rebels say they're committed to driving Bozize from power. Much of their anger stems from a peace deal they say the president hasn't honored which would integrate fighters into the military.
