A 2-year-old girl born with HIV is the first child to be "functionally cured," doctors announced Sunday. Thirty hours after birth in rural Mississippi, the baby was given antiretroviral drugs. Doctors said the baby has no signs of the virus. If confirmed, the child would be only the second well-documented case of cure in the world.
