Beyond: Two Souls’ evolution since E3 announcement, developer of Dead Island: Riptide calls out their very own publisher, and Square Enix announces a somewhat exclusive Wii U release, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. David Cage’s latest project, Beyond: Two Souls, is just over six months away from launch, but according to the man behind the upcoming release the E3 2012 announcement “took place during a very early development process, more than a year before the release and the game has changed a lot since then." Cage continued by stating “We have invested a lot of time trying out new ideas and to show the fans soon what has changed since E3.”As a fan of Heavy Rain and Cage’s other previous projects, I am hyped to see what he has in store for us gamers with Beyond: Two Souls. Could we see the PS3 exclusive also make a PlayStation 4 appearance? David Cage did make an appearance on-stage during the PlayStation 4 announcement and while nothing is official, it is something worth thinking about.

Techland, the developer behind Dead Island: Riptide, has called out their very own publisher, Deep Silver, regarding a false statement released. When asked about the absence of Dead Island: Riptide from the Wii U platform last week, Deep Silver stated that Techland would have had to re-engineer its engine specifically for the Wii U, but according to Techland themselves, this is not true. In response to the false accusation, Techland stated “There's no 'rewriting' needed to make it work on Nintendo's latest console. So the bottom line is that there were no plans to create a Wii U version but that decision had nothing to do with Chrome Engine's inability to run on that platform.” Ouch! When a publisher isn’t aware of their developer’s capabilities, a high level of concern is reached as efficient communication was clearly absent from the relationship.

Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, Square Enix has officially announced Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut exclusively for the Wii U being co-developed by Mass Effect’s Wii U studio, Straight Right. Promising to deliver touch-screen hacking, interactive map editing, augmented sniping, grenade throwbacks, and many more GamePad features, the Director’s Cut will include the entire Missing Link DLC chapter and pre-order mission, Tong’s Rescue. The release is also said to feature overhauled boss fights, improved AI, and striking visual improvements. If those additions aren’t enough, Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut will also provide access to Half-Life-style developer commentaries and in-game guides joined by an all-new New Game+ mode. Square Enix has truly gone all out with the redefined Wii U release, let’s just hope the investment proves its worth when it releases “soon” according to the team.
