William and Kate celebrate St Patrick's day

SCRIPT: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took part in traditional St. Patrick's day celebrations with Irish guards at the Aldershot Barracks in England on Sunday.

Prince William's pregnant wife Catherine, presented members of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards with sprigs of shamrock in a tradition dating to 1901 when it was started by Queen Alexandra.

The Duchess also honored the regimental mascot, an Irish wolfhound, by pinning a shamrock to its collar.

The Duchess wore a dark green dress coat and a gold shamrock brooch that was previously worn by the Queen Mother.

Prince William, who is Colonel of the Irish Guards, was dressed in traditional regalia.

The British royal couple are expecting their first child in July.
