http://www.campinginstlouis.com St. Louis area RV park and campground enthusiast shares some insight on internet service in RV parks and campgrounds. For a helpful report on camping equipment, visit our website for a free download.
A very common question that campers ask is what type of Internet connections are available at RV parks and campgrounds. What I am really hearing is how in the world do I stay connected while the family is having fun.
Well, let me tell you there are a lot of reasons to be able to access the Internet while out camping. Whether it is a family vacation a business trip or both, having access to the Internet can be both beneficial and rewarding. Internet access can allow you to make plans and set itineraries while still at the campground waiting for the kids to awaken. What about a rainy afternoon and you can't go fishing, Internet access gives you a backup plan.
Make sure you know what service may be available at the RV campground you are heading to. Many campgrounds do offer WI-FI service these days, both for free, and on a pay type service.
Typically if it is available throughout the campground it is a pay per use, or if it is available in a common area, then it may be free. You will want to check ahead of time to make sure that they do have service available and if it's throughout the park or in a designated area. You may want to find out about the fees ahead of time as well.
One thing you may not have thought of is the security levels of the Internet access. The Internet can be a dangerous place these days, and it is good to know that your information is secure. Many campgrounds and RV parks have self installed systems and may or may not have good security to keep your information safe and secure. It is always a good thing to find out who supplies the Internet access, and the safety and security they offer.

I’ve also got a gift for you that I think can help you avoid a forgetful moment that could ruin your camping trip before it ever gets started. Me and my staff developed a checklist of the essential items you are likely to need before you go camping. If you go to www.campinginstlouis.com, you can request a copy of the “Disaster or delight-Must Have Items” checklist. It’s free and I hope it helps. If you’re ever in the St. Louis area or have questions even though you’re not, feel free to call some of my friends over at Pin Oak Creek RV Park and Paintball they are great folks and can be reached at 888-474-6625
