A snowstorm slammed New England on Sunday, churning up the Eastern Seaboard towards Maine and Atlantic Canada.

Just a week after a severe blizzard buried much of the eastern United States in snow, this storm spared New York City but again hit Boston.

Stonington, Connecticut got a fresh batch of powder while further inland, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania received about an inch of snow overnight, leaving roads slick and dangerous.

Providence, Rhode Island also got about six inches of fresh snow.

This storm is the same weather system that brought snow to North and South Carolina on Saturday.

It's much less destructive than last week's blizzard, in part due to colder temperatures causing drier snow, which is less likely to stick to trees and cause limbs to collapse.
